Many Arabs talk about the discrimination they receive at work or university in regards to hard working or being a spoiled brat. That is the main reason why many westerners don't take us seriously, which I am against as not all Arabs are lazy, but also agree with, as our lives, or to be more specific, the lives of the older youth generations (not our ancestors surely!) are based on pampering. When I talk about pampering, I mean many things: unlimited support from the government, unadequate education systems and smooth working expectations. Thus we are not overall expected to work our ass off, to prove ourselves.
That being said, my words don't emphasize that Arabs are lazy in many ways, but rather, the life given to us made us so, eventhough we can also say that it can be a personal attribute too.
The reason am talking about this topic is none would understand hard work until you truly go through one. Studying for the CFA has been by far the most intensive experience in my whole life, knowing that the rest is easy compared to this! A student ends up with NO personal life what so ever (excluding a 2 hours time every day, as you can't just keep going without it) and continuous study.
The exam is not considered HARD, but it teaches you to be committed to studying and in general to work and people.
2 months to go inshala till June's exam!
